German Settler 150th Anniversary Exhibition

150 years ago, hundreds of German families came to South Africa for the first time to set up farms and build their lives in a new land.

Today, towns like Stutterheim celebrate the contribution they (along with many other people) have made to shaping our lives.

This exhibition gives the visitor a chance to see what life was really like in the days of the first German settlers in Stutterheim. From wedding photos and family bibles to music boxes and butter-churns, visit the Lutheran Hall and find out how things used to be, all those years ago.

Opening hours: 9am – 4pm daily
Friday 26 September 2008 – Sunday 28 September 2008
